National Christ Child Society’s signature program is newborn layettes. These bundles of newborn clothing are presented to support the community needs of new mothers in all 45 chapters of the Christ Child Society across the country.

The layettes for Christ Child Society of Atlanta include:

a pack of Diapers

set of onesies (3, 6, 9 month sizes)

set of sleepers (3, 6, 9 month sizes)

3 sets of socks

1 swaddler

2 bibs

hand-knitted newborn cap

baby board book

educational materials on early reading and infant care

*All items are wrapped in a handmade quilt to be used as a play quilt for tummy time.*

Members meet regularly to assemble these layette bundles for donation. By year end 2022, our chapter donated 3,812 layettes in our Atlanta communities.

 

Our layettes are provided to prenatal programs at: Beacon of Hope, Grant Park Clinic, Good Samaritan Clinic, Pregnancy Aid Clinics: Roswell, Forest Park and Atlanta, and The Hope Center.

In 2020, we began providing mini-layettes to welcome families in the new NICU unit rooms at Grady Memorial Hospital in downtown Atlanta. These zippered layette bags are filled with onesies (S,M,L), sleepers (S,M,L), socks, knitted cap, swaddler, baby book, coloring book and crayons for a sibling and educational materials. We donate 144 annually.
