National Christ Child Society’s signature program is newborn layettes. Each chapter of the Christ Child Society provides impoverished mothers with essentials, such as blankets, diapers, wipes, toiletries, pajamas, socks, bibs, onesies, a book and instructional pamphlets.
In Atlanta, our volunteers sew quilts, knit caps and gather throughout the year to bundle these items into layettes for donation. In 2019, we distributed approximately 300 layettes to Outreach Partners in the Atlanta area. To date, our chapter has donated over 3,000 layettes to those in need in the Atlanta area. A Layette Endowment has been established to support this program. Our Chapter received a grant from the Catholic Foundation of North Georgia to support our layette efforts. Layettes are given as an incentive for completion of prenatal programs at:
Grady Health System Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Mercy Care Clinic at City of Refuge
Pregnancy Resources of Doraville
